Further in the Way of Introduction …

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area and, for the last seven years in my vehicle, I have also worked, mostly full time, as a legal secretary until … last August when I applied for the Social Security.

Now, it is a pittance, particularly in the Bay Area. So the plan is to take temp assignments here and there, and to develop an online venue for selling the crafty things I make and the recycling of other stuff I come across here and there.

I love knitting, crocheting, spinning, embroidering, all that yarn crafting stuff. And I’m reasonably good at it, and this is how I have wanted to “make a living” for most of my life. Having now the pittance and the time, I am going to make a concerted effort.

The effort is still a tad unfocused. You can run your online store on WordPress, but I want to have some flexibility about where to list stuff. Etsy is a good market for the handmade things. But some of the other stuff may have potential to generate a good price at auction, and Ebay and WhatNot will be better for that.

But then … how I really want to spend my days is blathering about my assorted projects and posting pretty pictures. Some awfully clever person in Berkeley did this to a tree in front of their house. I want to be doing something like.

Here we could get into some deepish waters, psychologically speaking. I’ll bet I could get a substantial “Amen” to the proposition that purchasing the stuff to craft with, and blathering about same, are, for some reason, much more attractive than sitting down to do the work.

Strange species, homo sapiens.
